"Southern Mountain Mint" - Pycnanthemum pycnanthemoides

Growth Habit: Small to medium shrub

Water Requirement: Moderate, but fairly drought tolerant once established

An extremely fragrant plant. When rubbed, the leaves smell like a strong peppermint with a bit of eucalyptus. When the plant is about to flower, the leaves near the flower heads turn a snowy white while the other leaves remain green, giving the plant a very unique appearance that makes it stand out in any landscape. A minty tea can be made from the leaves.
